Achilles Tang (Acanthurus achilles)

The Achilles Tang; though remarkably exotic in coloration and impressive in overall appearance can be a difficult fish for a beginner to keep. Success with this soft-bodied species can only be had from securing a healthy specimen initially, providing a large living space, and high, consistent specific gravity, excellent water parameters and oxygen concentration.

Maximum Size: the Acanthurus achilles grows up to 10 inches.

Diet: The Acanthurus achilles is a herbivore and likes to eat Dried Seaweed (best), marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, Romaine Lettuce (blanched) , fresh seaweed, and other meaty treats.

Level of Care: The Achilles Tang (Adult) is a medium maintenance fish.

Behavior: The Achilles Tang (Adult) may act peacefully toward other fish.

Hardiness: This is not a hardy fish.
